The focus of the Re-focus NLP practice group is on the practise of foundational NLP skills for the purpose of developing depth and insight in application. Explanations are kept to a functional minimum in order to maximise 'doing' time, and printed instructions are provided where useful.
Minimum Experience
As mentioned above, the focus of the group is on practise - not teaching! Beginners are most welcome, though with the caveat that this is not an ideal group for introducing the subject! Prior familiarisation with the basics of NLP is recommended for all those who wish to attend, allowing the evenings to run smoothly without sidetracking into the explanation of basic concepts. Beginners are most welcome to attend the next Resource Ecologies Spark of NLP free of charge to give themselves a better grounding. If you are unsure, please ring before attending (01462 674411).
Agenda
Evenings run by an agenda that allows for a good mix of discussion, practise and chat time:

19:30 Start and introduction for the evening (5 minutes)
19:35 Exercise 1 - instructions (5 minutes)
19:40 Exercise 1 - groups of three 10 minutes each (30 minutes)
20:10 Exercise 1 - debrief (10 minutes)
20:20 Break for coffee and chat (15 minutes)
20:35 Exercise 2 - instructions (5 minutes)
20:40 Exercise 2 - groups of three 10 minutes each (30 minutes)
21:10 Exercise 2 - debrief (10 minutes)
21:20 Debrief of evening (10 minutes)
21:30 Formal Close - or on to 'La Concha' for deepening discussion!
Less formal evenings are scheduled from time to time to allow more 'organic' explorations. We also welcome guest speakers and facilitators from time to time who are welcome to run to their own formats, provided they remain congruent with the focus of the group.
Documentation
Copies of the agenda are available on the evening, and all exercises are supported by printed instructions where appropriate.
Peer Support
The ethos of the group is one of creating an environment that maximises learning and growth. As such peer coaching, feedback and evaluation are actively encouraged among participants. Regulars attendees are also encouraged to look out for and welcome new people.
Feedback and Flexibility
The format and content of the evenings is always open to discussion and evolution so as to maintain alignment with the ongoing needs of the group. From this perspective feedback and input are always welcome and well received.
